2023 Affiliated Society Contest 432 MHz

Unusually for the time of year, entrants were generally treated to calm, sunny weather but, regrettably, propagation was not so benign.  'Disappointing conditions but good UK activity' best sums up the experience reported by entrants.

The 118 entries represent an increase of 15% from last year.  Encouragingly, the number of Affiliated clubs and teams was also up by more than 20%

Two DX (over 750 km) contacts were achieved: QSOs between G4ODA and DL6SAQ/P & GD8EXI and F6DKW.

In the club competition, the General Section saw a reversal of last year's positions at the top with the Weekend CG `A' team overcoming the Harwell ARS `A'.

In the Local Section, Camb-Hams `A' made the G0ODQ trophy theirs for the 11th time as the highest scoring Affiliated Society.  Chesham and District ARS `A' were runners up but can claim some bragging rights as the only Society who fielded 3 teams, with the 'C' team still finishing in the top half of the table.

In this ever-changing world, it is good to see that some things are seemingly immutable.  One such phenomenon is Richard, GD8EXI triumphing in the Single Operator Fixed category with Keith, G40DA taking the runner up spot.  This achievement marks 11 consecutive wins for Richard.

Congratulations to all the certificate winners.
